Course Structure 

Students can choose between two flexible class formats:

• 3-Day Option: Three 8-hour classes (24 hours total) spread over three consecutive days. 

• 2-Day Option: Two 12-hour classes (24 hours total) for a more intensive schedule. 

Both options ensure compliance with the state-mandated 24-hour training requirement.

What is SORA Training?

SORA training is a state-regulated program that ensures security professionals are equipped with the necessary expertise to perform their duties safely, legally, and effectively. This certification is required for anyone seeking employment as a security officer in New Jersey. The training focuses on topics such as ethics, report writing, emergency response, de-escalation techniques, and New Jersey’s laws governing security officers.Our SORA training is delivered in-person by experienced and certified instructors.

• Legal Knowledge: Understand the legal framework and responsibilities of a security officer in New Jersey.
• Anti-Terrorism Awareness Training: Learn the key concepts of recognizing, preventing, and responding to potential terrorist threats. The course emphasizes situational awareness, early threat detection, and effective communication to mitigate risks.
• Professional Skills: Learn effective communication, observational techniques, and report writing.
• Emergency Response Training: Gain knowledge on how to respond to various emergencies, including medical, fire, and security-related incidents.
• De-Escalation Strategies: Learn how to manage conflicts and diffuse potentially volatile situations.
• Code of Conduct and Ethics: Develop a professional and ethical approach to security work.

Fees Payable by Students

• SORA Certification Course: A $125 fee is charged for the instructor-led training course.
• State Police Registration: A $75 fee paid during online registration with the New Jersey State Police on Day 1 of class. Our instructors will assist you with your online registration.
• Fingerprinting: An appointment for fingerprinting is required, with a fee of $68 payable on the day of the fingerprint appointment. Our instructors will assist you in scheduling your appointment.
